Welcome to my website. My name is Sam Meeuwissen and I am a life long angler. With a wealth of experience in fishing for most freshwater species that swim in the UK, I have access to some of the best big fish angling in the home counties. Having spent my formative angling years chasing whatever swam in the local gravel pits and rivers, I soon progressed from silvers through to specimen angling and eventually caught the carp bug.
I was very lucky during my early carp fishing exploits in that my local venues included the Kingsmead complex, Wraysbury and the gravel pits down the A4 Colnbrook bypass, so I was never far from a range of species and venues. As I moved from the lower end of the Colne Valley and eventually settled in the Loddon Valley, my early fascination with rivers has taken over once more. Although I still love carp fishing especially on the large inland seas, the rivers have captivated me for the past few seasons. Not just because of the rather large barbel and chub that seem to inhabit my local waters, but for the wealth of wildlife and the serenity that can only be found by a small river on a summers day.
Gaining the Level 2 certificate in Angling Coaching enables me to give back something to the sport and impart some of the knowledge I have gained over the years. Having various platforms to air my ideas, opinions and advice I gain tremendous satisfaction by hopefully helping other anglers and imparting what I have learned. I regularly take anglers on days out river fishing and focus on tutoring juniors and newcomers to the joys of a days fishing.
Being a firm believer in conservation and heritage, I also take an interest in my local wildlife and environment. A keen author, photographer, gardener, a Manufacturing Engineer by trade and of course married to my lovely wife Rebecca, I juggle a hectic life with my fishing and just try to enjoy it all along the way.
Tight Lines!
Sam Meeuwissen
